Due to the fact that the numbers of children infected by the coronavirus have increased in the central and southern states of Mexico, the Municipal Health Department (DMS) in Tijuana asks parents to remain alert and continue implementing sanitary measures for their children.

It was emphasized that care for children must continue, since the vaccine has not been approved for them in the country.

Children, especially the youngest ones, put their fingers in their mouths, suck on railings, throw themselves on the floor and are still unaware of the health risks that have been present, even before the pandemic, which is why it is very important to reinforce hygiene measures.

The Tijuana City Hall insists that the general population, with special attention to infants, use masks, continue to apply antibacterial gel and avoid crowded places, especially if they do not comply with the rules of sanitation, as is the case of some restaurants and enclosed spaces.

Although the state of Baja California stands out nationally for having a significant number of people vaccinated, the population under 18 years of age, and some percentage of adults, have not yet been vaccinated, which is why infants are more exposed to infection.
