US will no longer receive Ukrainians from Tijuana border crossings

This measure will be implemented starting Monday

Starting Monday, April 25, Ukrainian citizens will only be able to apply for asylum in the USA through the ”Uniting for Ukraine (U4U)” program, which will be implemented by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and will allow Ukrainians affected by the Russia-Ukraine War to stay in the United States for up to two years.

The Government of Mexico in collaboration with the Government of the United States is working so that this process is adequate, humane, and efficient. In case they don’t follow this required process, Ukrainians will be given instructions by the proper authorities to complete the U4U process.

With this measure, Ukrainians won’t be able to enter the United States through the border crossing, and won’t be able to have advantages or faster processes if coming from Mexico.

This means that all Ukrainian citizens looking to enter from Mexico that haven’t followed the steps laid out by the U4U process will be denied access and will be sent back to our country.

In the next few days, Mexico, the US, and Canada will talk about the Ukraine crisis and how they can all help this conflict.
