The Larousse Gastronomic Mexico Guide will include several restaurants of Baja California

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, held a meeting with the judges of the 2023 Larousse Gastronomic Mexico Guide, which compiles the opinion of culinary experts along with the best restaurants nationwide. For the first time, 14 establishments of Baja California located in Tijuana, Mexicali, and Ensenada will be included in order to continue promoting the state’s gastronomic industry.

She gave as an example ancestral traditions such as fishing and shell gathering practiced by the native people of Baja California, as well as the relevant influence of Chinese, Italian, and Spanish cultures. In the state, several different techniques and ingredients mix in order to create world-class Baja Californian gastronomy.

At this meeting the following people were present: Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Kurt Ignacio Honold Morales, national CANIRAC (National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry) president, Germán González Bernal, among special guests.
