Marina del Pilar places Baja California as the "ideal destination" for international investments

Baja California is way above all Mexican states as the best destination for international investments

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, shared on the 114th edition of "Wednesday Morning Press Conference" the results of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where the state was positioned as the most attractive destination to invest in Mexico.

During her speech, she stressed that the state is currently in a favorable economic moment, putting special emphasis on key issues such as nearshoring, artificial intelligence, the new hydrogen economy, and future supply chain strategies.

The governor said that the "World Economic Forum in Davos not only provided us with the opportunity to showcase our stories of success, but also look for new investments, build alliances, and consolidate Baja California as a global reference regarding state-of-the-art economic issues."

Jaime Eduardo Cantón Rocha, who leads the office of Cabinet Coordination, complemented this presentation by informing people present about the meetings with international corporations such as Garrett, HP, Sempra Infraestructura, and Honeywell, whose goal was looking for better paying jobs and greater wellbeing for the region. He emphasized that Baja California is now not only known for being a place with cheap workforce but a place with talent and development.

The governor also spoke about the actions taken after the rains that took place on January 22, such as the opening of shelters by state DIF, the delivery of 49,000 aid packages from the Secretariat of Wellbeing, cleaning work, repairs, and checkups of malfunctions in affected schools.

The new members of the cabinet were also introduced, among them there was Laura Marmolejo Toscano, who went from being a delegate of the State Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of Ensenada to being the head of this same agency. Georgina Estela Wilhelmy Woolfolk also joined the cabinet as the director of the Institute of Physical Educational Infrastructure of Baja California, as she has proven her experience at the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT).

Lastly, Jaime Cantón Rocha, former private secretary, will lead the Office of Cabinet Coordination, backed by his successful career at the municipal, state, and federal levels and his experience in student leadership.
