With FBI data, a list with the crime rate of every California city was made

Recently, the company SafeWise made a list of the safest cities in California, based on crime data provided by the FBI.

Though this data was taken in 2022, generally speaking, California has a property crime rate of 25.3 incidents for every 1000 people, i.e., 23% above the national average.

On the other hand, regarding violent crimes, it has a percentage of 6% above the national average, with a rate of 4.2 incidents for every 1,000 residents.

In addition, the ranking also shows that California experiences a robbery rate above the rest of the country, with a 16% of the total of property crimes.

"Safest cities of California 2024" study

Due to this analysis, Rancho Santa Margarita was rated as the safest city in California. It is located in Orange County and has a population of almost 47,000 inhabitants.

Its violent crime rate is only 0.4 for every 1,000 inhabitants, while its property crimes occur at a frequency of 4.8 for every 1,000 people. In addition, no murder or rape was reported in 2022.

It should be noted that 50% of people polled said that they feel concern every day regarding safety. However, every year, this decreases by at least 19%.
