After a year-long manhunt that crossed international borders, Camron Lee has been arrested in Rosarito, Mexico, accused of murdering his partner in Sacramento and fleeing to Baja California with their two young children.
The children (Athena Lee, 5, and Mateo Lee, 4) were found safe in Primo Tapia, Rosarito. Their discovery came just days after the FBI’s Sacramento field office announced a reward on December 23, 2025, for any information leading to Lee’s capture and the children’s whereabouts.
Authorities confirmed that the breakthrough came on May 17, following a tip that led investigators straight to Lee and the minors. The Sacramento Police Department, the FBI’s Sacramento field office, and the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office worked closely with Mexican agencies including Mexico’s Attorney General’s office, the National Migration Institute, Mexican army personnel, and the FBI’s legal attaché in Mexico City to secure the arrest.

The search for Lee and his children began on July 8, 2024, when Sacramento police received a distress call from a home on Didcot Circle. Officers arrived to find Angélica Bravo, Lee’s partner, dead inside the residence.
By July 26, 2024, Lee had been charged with four counts of possession of an assault weapon. A federal arrest warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was issued on August 20, 2024. Then, on March 5, 2025, after the Sacramento County coroner ruled that homicidal violence could not be ruled out as Bravo’s cause of death, Lee was formally charged with homicide.
“Since July 8, 2024, Angelica Bravo’s family has been waiting for justice. With the dedicated partnership of the Sacramento Police Department and the FBI, we can announce that Camron Lee is in custody and will face charges for her murder. I’m further glad to announce that the children have now been reunified with Ms. Bravo’s family, bringing them profound relief. This arrest is a powerful reminder that no matter how much time passes, our resolve to pursue justice and protect our community never fades. My sincere hope is that this brings Ms. Bravo’s family one step closer to the healing and justice they deserve,” said Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho.
The children have been safely returned to their family in California. Lee is expected to be extradited to the United States under “Project Welcome Home,” a program that funds the transport of federal fugitives back to U.S. soil.
