Over 100,000 women in Baja California are benefiting from the Violet Card program, which empowers women by supporting their education and entrepreneurial dreams, and now, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda is making sure that support continues without interruption.
This week, the governor led an event in Tijuana to distribute replacement Violet Cards to single mothers who head their households as the chips on the original cards are set to expire soon. In coordination with the state’s Secretariat of Well-Being, the government is rolling out new cards to ensure these women never lose access to the financial aid they rely on.

“When we talk about transformation, we mean that opportunities are now rights. The Violet Card is much more than a financial aid. It’s a tool that allows women to keep studying, start businesses, and build their dreams,” the governor said.
The program was born out of a commitment to support single mothers and recognizes not only their daily efforts but also their essential role in the development of their homes and communities.

According to Secretary of Well-Being Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán, the next deposit will be made on April 30. That means beneficiaries need to receive and activate their new cards before April 28. To make that happen, Welfare staff are reaching out directly by phone to inform each woman of the exact date, time, and location to pick up her new card in her municipality.

In addition , this program gives single mothers more than just money as it gives them a real opportunity to continue their education. He urged beneficiaries to stay alert for official calls so they don’t miss the chance to collect their new cards and keep accessing the benefit.
Governor Marina del Pilar concluded the event by reaffirming that her administration will continue strengthening the Violet Card program and expanding its reach. The goal, she said, is to ensure more single mothers gain access to better opportunities for development, education, and economic independence.
