A total of 1,539 firefighters from all seven municipalities received individual incentives this year from the Baja California government, amounting to 7,695,000 pesos as an acknowledgment of their bravery and the daily risks these first responders take to protect lives, homes, and communities.

Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda emphasized that honoring their service also means standing by their families and ensuring that the state’s Shared Well-being policy reaches those who answer the call in moments of greatest need.

“We will continue pushing forward so that their sacrifice, discipline, and deep sense of duty are also reflected in fair wages and better benefits. What you do is an act of profound vocation, and you serve as an inspiration to all of us,” she said.

Since its launch in 2022, this policy has consistently supported firefighters who respond to fires, emergencies, and hazardous situations throughout the region. To date, the state has allocated a cumulative total of 35,540,000 pesos in economic bonuses.

The governor also announced that her administration will keep working alongside municipal authorities to extend similar support to volunteer firefighters and to further strengthen the overall benefits package for all active firefighters across Baja California.

Concluding her remarks, Governor Marina del Pilar noted that recognizing those who safeguard Baja California is a way of caring for those who care for others every day and these economic bonuses are a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and a step toward bringing well-being to the families that sustain this vital vocation.
