Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, at a meeting with women from the community for Mother’s Day celebrations, emphasized her commitment to women’s rights. As part of this commitment, her administration has worked to enshrine the Violet Card as a constitutional right, benefiting single mothers in the state.

“What used to be programs are now rights that have been elevated to constitutional status under our government, helping single mothers who support their families. No future administration will be able to take these rights away because they are now part of Baja California’s constitution,” she stated.

She recalled that Pancita Llena, Corazón Contento (Full Belly, Happy Heart) is another initiative that became a constitutional right under her administration. By providing meals to children in public schools, the program directly supports family economies, particularly benefiting mothers.

She also claimed that her government will continue promoting empowerment, safety, and well-being for women across the state, recognizing them as the driving force behind society and Baja California’s transformation.

“You are an inspiration for our government to keep working so that you can be autonomous, strong, intelligent, and empowered. That is our mission. Happy Mother’s Day to each and every one of you,” Governor Ávila Olmeda said.

She also addressed the mothers in attendance, thanking them for their efforts in securing well-being for their communities in coordination with the state government.

“I respect and admire you for the work you do in your communities, because you look out for everyone, seeking out the programs that are now rights in Baja California,” she said.

Meanwhile, Baja California’s Secretary of Well-Being, Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán, highlighted Governor Marina del Pilar’s leadership since the beginning of her term, which has strengthened services for the state’s most vulnerable populations, especially women.

“Just as many of you, as community leaders, fight for better parks, schools, and public services in your neighborhoods, Governor Marina del Pilar has also fought for these causes—even before becoming governor,” he concluded.
