Through the Civil Protection and Fire Department, the government of Tijuana, led by Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, will monitor events held at the summit of Cerro Colorado to ensure they remain 100% recreational and free of alcohol consumption.

Arnulfo Guerrero León, Municipal Government Secretary, reported that authorities have so far identified two planned gatherings in the area, organized by members of local hiking groups.

Guerrero León stated that officials will engage with event organizers, emphasizing that as long as activities remain alcohol-free and purely recreational, there is no reason to ban them.

“In recent days, we’ve detected organized activities at this location. We’ll monitor them to ensure compliance—what we cannot allow is the emergence of irregular situations,” he explained.

The government of Tijuana reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the community to ensure these events are carried out responsibly, promoting outdoor recreation without compromising attendee safety or the integrity of the hiking area.
