A delivery mistake led law enforcement to bust a mail-order drug trafficking ring in San Diego, authorities announced.
The investigation began last month when a mysterious package was accidentally delivered to the wrong residence. Authorities were notified, triggering an investigation by the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) and the United States Postal Service.

That package allowed detectives to uncover the operation and arrest 4 individuals on felony drug trafficking charges. During the raid, officers seized more than 91 pounds of narcotics packed into hundreds of individual envelopes and shipping boxes.
Among the illicit substances recovered were:
- 33,021 grams of methamphetamine (including over 100,000 counterfeit Adderall pills)
- 5,116 grams of MDMA
- 2,450 grams of ketamine
- 538 grams of cocaine
- Approximately 1,000 Xanax pills
“Wrong address, special delivery for Narcotics detectives,” authorities stated.
The estimated total street value of the seized drugs is roughly $1.14 million.
