Get ready for a summer storybook adventure because the San Diego County Fair is back, and this time, it’s adding a little magic to the mix.
The 2026 edition of the beloved annual event is themed “Once Upon a Fair,” combining all the thrill, flavor, and excitement fairgoers know and love with a heartfelt celebration of books and storytelling.
Running from June 10 to July 5, this year’s fair invites visitors to step right into the pages of their favorite books. The themed exhibit developed with help from Scholastic and Dr. Seuss promises to be a literary wonderland.

From heart-pounding monster truck shows and hilarious corgi and pig races, to hypnotists, magicians, jugglers, and acrobats roaming the grounds, the fair is packed with nonstop entertainment.
Turkey legs, cinnamon rolls, funnel cakes, fresh lemonade, juicy burgers, and all the classic guilty pleasures will be featured at the San Diego County Fair. And don’t forget the games, whether you’re chasing adrenaline or testing your skills to win stuffed animals.
