During a recent session of the Coordination Roundtable for the Construction of the Peace, Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz led a meeting with federal, state, and local authorities to review and reinforce operational strategies across the municipality.
A key focus of the discussion was the strengthening of preventive measures along Rosarito’s coastline, particularly regarding the monitoring and assistance of swimmers, given the heavy visitor turnout the area typically experiences during this time of year. Authorities also renewed their call for the public to follow official safety recommendations and heed instructions from emergency personnel to help avoid incidents.
On the public safety front, the Municipal Secretariat of Citizen Security reported that between July 16 and 22, 23 individuals were handed over to the State Attorney General’s Office. Of these, nine were arrested on drug-related charges, specifically for narcotics sales at the retail level. Over the same period, authorities recovered four stolen vehicles, confiscated prohibited weapons, and seized multiple doses of illicit substances.
The arrests covered a range of offenses, including property damage, home invasion, assault, gender-based violence, drug crimes, and operating a stolen motor vehicle, all stemming from ongoing patrol and rapid-response efforts.
As part of a broader interagency strategy, three coordinated operations were conducted with the support of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the State Citizen Security Force, the Secretariat of the Navy, the National Guard, and the State Investigation Agency with the aimed of curbing vehicle theft.
In addition, municipal police carried out 4,726 preventive patrols across various parts of the city, along with 1,023 vacation-season surveillance rounds and 20 patrols along the Boulevard 2000 corridor, which borders Tijuana. These measures are intended to reinforce police visibility on one of the region’s busiest roads.
The session also included a review of incident reports from priority municipalities, with the goal of better addressing the root causes of violence and refining prevention tactics through closer interinstitutional collaboration. Closing the meeting, Mayor Rocío Adame Muñoz reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to maintaining ongoing coordination among all levels of government to strengthen security, prioritize prevention, and ensure peace of mind for Rosarito families and every visitor who chooses this destination this summer
