Tijuana Mayor Abdiel Gutiérrez Coronado officially inaugurated the 5th edition of the 2026 MT Northwest Tijuana Maneuvering Competition during a ceremony held at Toros stadium.
The event, organized by the National Chamber of Freight Transportation (CANACAR), brought together operators from across the region for a showcase of skill and healthy competition.
“I am delighted to be here once again,” said Mayor Gutiérrez. “This event is a tribute to all transport operators, whose hard work drives prosperity and well-being in our communities.”
The mayor underscored the vital role that freight drivers play in the nation’s economy and praised their professionalism and dedication, noting that their efforts help elevate Mexico’s standing on the industrial stage.
CANACAR Tijuana delegate Alfonso Millán welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude to the sponsors and organizing committee for their continued commitment, which has made it possible to hold the competition consecutively for five years.
A total of 62 freight operators, including two women, took part in this year’s contest.
The opening ceremony was also attended by CANACAR executives and representatives from the event’s sponsoring companies.
