In order to strengthen cross-border cooperation in higher education in the CaliBaja region, U.S. Consul General Lance Hegerle recently paid an official visit to Luis Enrique Palafox Maestre, Rector of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC).
The meeting centered on initiatives such as the EducationUSA advisory center and the CaliBaja Higher Education Consortium, which unites academic institutions from California and Baja California.
Both officials underscored the vital role these programs play in deepening educational collaboration and equipping students with the practical skills increasingly sought after by the region’s growing industries.
In addition, this type of binational partnership is instrumental in cultivating a better-prepared workforce and building a more competitive and prosperous border region.
