This Saturday, Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz inaugurated new hydraulic concrete paving projects in the La Morita and Ejido Francisco Villa neighborhoods, both located in the city’s eastern zone. The goal is to uplift local communities and improve mobility. In total, ten streets have been paved, benefiting more than 14,500 residents.
The mayor first visited the La Morita neighborhood in the La Presa Este district, where neighbors greeted him for the unveiling of more than 5,000 square meters of new pavement on Nogal Street. The project, which cost over 7 million pesos from federal Ramo 33 funds, directly benefits 1,000 residents and indirectly serves another 8,000.

“We had detected an illegal dump in this area, and we cleaned it up. With good planning, we’re strengthening infrastructure. We want to invest in projects that have a real impact on the community but citizens also have a responsibility to keep them in good condition,” the mayor said.
He then traveled to the Ejido Francisco Villa neighborhood, where he inaugurated concrete paving on several key roads: Popotla Street (between Santa Catarina and Tehuacán Avenue), Popotla Street (between Tehuacán and Acueducto Avenues), Tehuacán Avenue, Bahía Tortugas Street, Comondú Street, Santa Cruz Street, Paralelo 28 Street, Emiliano Zapata Street, and Villa Constitución Street.

These transformative works will benefit more than 5,500 residents and represent an investment of over 64 million pesos.
“The government is grateful to the citizens for the trust they’ve placed in us,” Mayor Burgueño added. “This investment is historic. We are improving infrastructure. This is what it means to transform Tijuana.”
Joining the mayor at the events were Virginia Vargas González, Secretary of Territorial and Urban Development; Wendy Ontiveros González, Secretary of Well-Being; Councilwoman Magaly Ronquillo Palacios; Adriana Barrera Hernández, Director of Public Services; Carlos Gastélum Félix, Director of Public Works and Municipal Urban Infrastructure; and Leticia Vidrio Moreno, Cabinet Coordinator.
Also present were María Guadalupe Rubio Cucué, Coordinator of Delegations; Joaquín Sandoval Chávez, Delegate of La Presa Este; María del Rocío González López, acting head of the La Presa Abelardo L. Rodríguez Delegation; and numerous local residents who will benefit directly from the projects.
