According to Burgueño, the gathering served as an exchange of ideas aimed at further strengthening the city, as the frameworks under review are being evaluated to ensure their success.
The invitation extended to the municipality by the UN and Mexico’s Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE) stemmed from the development of Tijuana’s Subnational Plan, which is aligned with the 2030 Agenda, the mayor explained.

Lastly, the mayor acknowledged the support that President Claudia Sheinbaum has given to Tijuana, a city she has called the “Crucible of Mexico.”
“We continue to strengthen our public policy, joining forces and working in the same direction,” Mayor Ismael Burgueño said.
