"Tacos Los Molcajetes" in Tijuana makes handmade tortillas that will win you over

They also have pure guacamole on the menu

Our presenter, chef Danny Betancourt, visited "Tacos Los Molcajetes" on Miguel Alemán Street in the Presidentes area in this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana. Two tacos were tried on this occasion, one with roast beef and the other with tripe, for $26 pesos ($1.28 USD).

Tacos de asada

This is the first taco that our host receives; the first thing he notices is that it is given in a freshly handmade yellow corn tortilla, with grilled meat, guacamole, "huevona" sauce (ground in uncooked), onion, cilantro, and on top, he adds an unusual element to tacos of this type: roasted nopal.

When he first tried it, the texture of the tortilla shocked him since it was pretty soft. The "huevona" sauce startled him because it was a little hot, but it increased the flavor of the meat with a soft texture and loads of flavor. This taco received an 8.3 rating since the nopal had a delicate flavor and Danny would simply add a bit extra guacamole.

Taco de Tripa

This taco, like the previous one, is served on a freshly prepared corn tortilla that is also rather large, and it contains tripe, avocado, onion, cilantro, and green tomatillo salsa. Our chef was unable to detect the sauce in question; nonetheless, the guacamole was noted for its flavor and quantity.

The shell was just to our host's liking, golden brown on the exterior and soft on the inside, as well as not being dry when coupled with the other components for the second bite, such as pure guacamole (100 percent avocado pulp). The sauce could be tasted, and it had a small spiciness to it, which went well with the taco's acidity and earned it an 8.5 grade.
