Baja California will continue under orange traffic light until February 20

15 Mexican states are under orange light status

Due to a federal ruling, Baja California, along with 14 other Mexican states, will continue preventive measures under orange “traffic light” status. Though it should be noted that our state has had a significant decline in the epidemic curve, the Scientific Committee of the Secretariat of Health reported.

From February 7th to February 20th capacity will be kept at 50% for non-essential activities, as well as in the education model implemented in the new normality, they indicated.

In the last two weeks, Baja California reduced its Covid-19 cases from 10,000 to 3,000, leaving behind the fourth wave peak. This, however, does not meant that sanitary measures should be relaxed. Doctors and experts encouraged the population at large to keep social distancing, to use (preferably) three-ply face masks, to keep ventilation in spaces, and to wash their hands constantly.

Additionally, for those who still haven’t received their COVID-19 vaccine, there are daily vaccination sites open in every municipality of the state. These sites are updated through state’s official social media, as well as through the general media who help support and aid in the broadcasting of these permanent working stations, the members of the Scientific Committee commented.
