In this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host, Chef Danny Betancourt visited “Tacos El Güero” located in Blvd Agua Caliente 1045, Zona Centro. Two tacos were tasted here: a carne asada taco and a chorizo taco both priced at $1.5 dollars (31 pesos).
Chorizo Taco
This first taco has chorizo, avocado, onion, coriander and is served in a handmade tortilla. One very distinguishable feature was the sauce, which was not very spicy, but surprised our host because its burning was “tasty”.
The chorizo had a very nice color and the flavor was quite balanced without its spices being overwhelming. The handmade tortillas were, in words of our host, “flavor guaranteed” since they have the ideal thickness to make one appreciate all the ingredients, like the avocado, which was served in large pieces. Chef Danny said he would have liked more since from his first bite he had finished almost everything. This taco gets a rating of 7.9.
Price: $1.5 dollars (31 pesos)

Carne Asada Taco
This taco has carne asada (grilled beef), avocado, onion, coriander, red sauce, and is served with a handmade tortilla, like the previous one. The meat portion of this taco was quite good, since one can feel its smoked and marinated flavor.
The avocado’s pure flesh, not mixed with any other ingredient, added nicely to the flavor, the sauce wasn’t very spicy and gave the taco flavor and humidity. The meat was thick and though it was a little hard, its amount and the tortilla’s size were quite good. None of the flavors were lost or overshadowed by others. This taco gets a rating of 8.0.
Price: $1.5 dollars (31 pesos)
