Coast Guard operators in the San Diego Sector received a report at approximately 2:50 p.m. from the crew of Vessel 311, assigned to the Coast Guard’s Port Security Unit, regarding a 40-foot cabin cruiser operating in Mission Bay.

Upon boarding and inspecting the vessel, Coast Guard personnel discovered 21 individuals believed to be undocumented migrants. According to official reports, the group consisted of 20 adults and one unaccompanied minor.

The Coast Guard crew subsequently transported the 21 detainees to Quivira Basin, where they were transferred into the custody of the Imperial Beach Border Patrol for further processing.

In a separate incident later that afternoon, command center operators received a call from a good Samaritan at approximately 4 p.m. reporting a disabled vessel located roughly 1.5 miles southwest of Point Loma. Authorities quickly dispatched a crew from Coast Guard Station San Diego to investigate the situation.

Arriving on scene, the responding team located an 18-foot center-console vessel carrying four additional suspected illegal migrants. Reports indicate that this group comprised three adults and one unaccompanied minor.

The Coast Guard crew took the four individuals into custody and delivered them to San Diego Sector authorities, later handing them over to Imperial Beach Border Patrol officials at Ballast Point.
