On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of SNTE Section 37, Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda announced a historic investment of 43 billion pesos to strengthen education in the region throughout 2026.

During the commemoration ceremony, the governor recognized the teaching profession as the cornerstone of generational development and the construction of a better future.
Governor Marina del Pilar also presided over the reopening of the union building in Valle de Mexicali, which has been renamed in honor of retired teacher José Luis Andrade Ibarra. She paid tribute to Andrade Ibarra for his enduring legacy as a former union leader and for the indelible mark his career has left on the state’s education system.
