After a seven-year pause, Chula Vista’s beloved HarborFest is set to make its long-awaited return to the waterfront, this time with a revitalized concept that organizers say will offer an even more immersive coastal experience.
The festival, which has not been held since 2019, is widely regarded as one of South Bay’s signature seaside celebrations.
“This is an event where the community’s love of maritime culture, live entertainment, and family-friendly summer experiences collide,” the event’s website reads.

Scheduled for August 22 at Bayside Park, the event will transform the shoreline into a lively hub of activity, all while honoring the rich history of San Diego Bay. Attendees can look forward to a diverse lineup of attractions, including:
- A waterfront main stage featuring live musical and variety performances.
- Kayak and paddleboard sessions with expert demonstrations, equipment rentals, and guided excursions suitable for all ages.
- Combined land-and-water tours that offer scenic views of the coastline and local marine life.
- Live mermaid performances.
- A beachfront showcase of classic, exotic, and collectible automobiles.
- A community artisan market featuring handcrafted goods and local products inspired by coastal living.
- Designated areas for recreational fishing activities.
- A dedicated children’s zone with arts and crafts, interactive workshops, bounce houses, and more.
- High-energy lucha libre exhibitions designed to thrill spectators of all ages.
- A diverse food truck court offering culinary options to suit every palate.

Organizers have confirmed that additional performers and activities will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
While general admission to HarborFest remains completely free, those seeking an elevated experience may purchase the “Tides & Tastes Pass.” This premium package includes preferred seating near the main stage, access to a shaded lounge area, private restrooms, and entry to an exclusive bar with complimentary food and beverages.

Pricing for the pass is currently set at approximately $49 for guests aged 21 and over, and around $32 for those 21 and under until July 15. After that date, ticket prices will gradually increase as the festival draws nearer.
