Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway touched down in Mexico City in late March 2026, kicking off their global press tour for the highly anticipated sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2, which arrives in theaters on April 30.
Mexican actress Regina Blandón had the honor of sitting down with the two stars for a ten-minute interview. Afterward, Blandón couldn’t stop praising them, calling them not just cinematic legends, but truly exceptional people. Among the many questions that came up, one was inevitable: “What’s your favorite Mexican dish?”
Anne Hathaway admitted she hadn’t had a chance to explore local restaurants, but she did rave about one hotel room service standout: braised short ribs, which she called “incredible.”
Meryl Streep, however, had a much more specific answer. She singled out a restaurant called “Bruma” which is located in Valle de Guadalupe. Her response immediately caught the attention of locals. After all, when one of the greatest actresses of her generation calls Baja California’s cuisine “amazing,” it’s a compliment worth celebrating.
Where Is Bruma? Inside Meryl Streep’s Favorite Baja Restaurant
Tucked in the heart of Baja California’s premier wine region, Bruma is far from your typical restaurant. It’s an entire ecosystem that blends high-end viticulture, organic architecture, and some of Mexico’s most award-winning cuisine. Designed by architect Alejandro D’Acosta, the property features an underground wine cellar and a stunning reflecting pool.
Bruma is also home to Fauna, the celebrated restaurant by chef David Castro Hussong, along with the ultra-exclusive Casa 8 lodging experience. Together, they’ve turned the destination into a benchmark for hospitality rooted in deep respect for the land and the unmistakable identity of the Baja California terroir.
