A new option is coming to motorcycle riders heading into the United States through San Ysidro.

Starting Tuesday, September 8, motorcycles will have a designated access point at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, available Monday through Friday from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The access point will be located near Lane 15 and is intended to keep traffic moving more efficiently at the busy border crossing.

What riders should expect

The dedicated access is part of an effort by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to improve the flow of travelers entering the country through San Ysidro.

Motorcyclists using the new access should watch for the designated signs and follow directions from CBP officers when approaching the port of entry.

CBP is also asking motorcycle riders to follow the new procedures safely and help maintain an orderly flow of traffic.

The agency said the change supports its broader effort to facilitate legitimate travel and improve the experience for travelers using the San Ysidro crossing.
