The government of Tijuana, under Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, announced the relocation of the checkpoint at the Ready Lane key access point on Vía Rápida Oriente as part of efforts to improve traffic flow and maintain order.

Apolinar Fernández Álvarez, head of the Secretariat of Sustainable Urban Mobility, Inspection, and Traffic Safety (SEMOVIS), explained that the checkpoint, previously located near a car dealership at the corner of Avenida Xavier Villaurrutia, was moved forward a few meters to Avenida Salvador Novo.

“This change allows for more effective control of traffic flow, placing the checkpoint closer to the split for accessing the bridge to Avenida Internacional or the Ready Lane, depending on each driver’s destination,” Fernández Álvarez said.

To ensure proper lane demarcation, barriers and lane dividers were installed, and SEMOVIS officers were deployed to reinforce security and order in the area.

It should be noted that the left and center lanes of Vía Rápida Oriente are still designed for Ready Lane access, while the right lane is designated for drivers heading to Avenida Internacional or Downtown Tijuana.

The government of Tijuana urges drivers to exercise caution and follow SEMOVIS agents’ instructions to minimize congestion and improve the experience for all road users.
