The State Public Services Commission of Tijuana (CESPT) announced that construction on a new sewer network in the Brisa Marina neighborhood has reached 60% completion.
The ongoing development includes the installation of 883 meters of pipeline, 187 sanitary connections, and 21 manholes across several streets, including Los Cristales, Las Golondrinas, Cocona, Loltum, Acatunchen, Coyane, Tolantongo, and Zacatón.
“We are responding to a request from the families of Brisa Marina with the infrastructure they need in their homes. Our priority is to address areas with lingering service gaps and advance projects that translate into a better quality of life for the population,” said CESPT General Director Mónica Vega Aguirre.

Alma Herlinda Pérez García, a community leader and project beneficiary, expressed gratitude for the state government’s response to a request initially filed a year and a half ago.
“We have lived in Brisa Marina for about 15 years and we are very grateful to Governor Marina del Pilar for listening to our request. This project will benefit around 150 families, for whom having a sanitary drainage system represents a significant improvement in their homes and their quality of life,” she noted.

Funded through a combined state and federal allocation via the Potable Water, Drainage, and Treatment Program (PROAGUA), the initiative aims to expand sanitation coverage to communities lacking complete utility services.
Once construction is completed, residents will be able to formalize service contracts with CESPT to connect their homes to the new network.
Vega Aguirre emphasized that expanding water and sewer infrastructure in underserved areas of Tijuana and Playas de Rosarito remains a core priority for the administration.
