Adobada by “Tacos Los Poblanitos” in Tijuana lacks flavor

This taqueria is located at Colonia Buena Vista

On this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana, our host Chef Danny Betancourt went to “Tacos Los Poblanitos” located at Calle Ing. Juan Ojeda Robles 415, Col. Buena Vista. On this occasion he tried two tacos: a carne asada taco and an adobada taco, both priced at $1.25 dollars ($25 pesos).

Adobada Taco

This taco has adobada meat, guacamole, onion, cilantro, salsa, and is served on two corn packaged tortillas. Though at first, the taco looked quite abundant, Chef Danny noticed that the meat slices were both too small and too big, which is why he felt that the taquero did not cut the meat evenly from the stick.

The flour tortillas had good flavor and they had the ideal humidity though they were store bought. The sauce was a little too spicy. The meat was missing that traditional spices, achiote, and more flavor, which made Chef Danny think that it was griddled, since there is a difference in taste compared to when it is taken directly from the stick. This is why this taco gets a rating of 7.3.

Price: $1.25 dollars ($25 pesos)

Carne Asada Taco

This taco has carne asada (grilled beef), guacamole, huevona sauce, onion, cilantro, and is served on two corn tortillas which were a little bit fried in the embers. Danny said that their size was a little too small.

The marinated flavor was a little bit sweet. When he tried it, Chef Danny said that one could taste the flavor of all the ingredients. The huevona sauce had some neutral notes that weren’t spicy, but did add flavor. This is why this taco gets a rating of 7.2.

Price: $1.25 dollars ($25 pesos)
