A couple of days ago I had the opportunity of visiting the Pueblo Magico of Tecate (Magical Town of Tecate) in Baja California. It's been several years since I've been to the town, and, honestly, I didn't expect to find anything interesting or really "magical" about it.
However, when I got there I didn't have to go too far till I found one of the reasons why Tecate has been gaining more ground in the map. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you: "El Food Truck."
If someone has read my articles before, then you will know that BBQ sauce is one of my weakness, and at the same time is one of the things I criticize frequently. Fortunately I wasn't disappointed, for they had an exquisite sauce and a large pork menu. From ribs to an exotic pizza, and even a unique version of a torta de tamal (a tamale torta).
El Food Truck of Tecate welcomes you with rock n' roll music from the 50s and 60s, leaving you with an unforgettable experience, which has led me to believe that it's not called "Pueblo Magico" for nothing.
Their menu has many options, even for vegetarians, and although the dishes look easy to cook, the gourmet touch in every plate is what differentiates this place from others I've had the luck of visiting (which are many). Added to that, the location is perfect, because at its side, there's Licores La Esmeralda #2, where you can buy a really nice beer to enjoy your delicious food.
El Food Truck is the house of the pork not only for its delicious plates, but for a little fella called William Larry that lives at the back of the truck.
Go visit this truck and put a smile on your face, El Food Truck is located in Km1 Tecate-Tijuana, Colonia el Refugio #426, 21440 Tecate, Baja California to the side of Licores La Esmeralda 2, and they open Thursday to Sunday from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm
