During the COVID-19 cases update in Baja California, the Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, rectified this Wednesday morning, September 23rd, that the state is still under red traffic light on the epidemiology chart; this is based on the following data:
Active cases
The region has 185 active cases, of which the top three municipalities with the largest number of these cases are Mexicali, Ensenada and Tijuana.
Positive cases and deaths
On the other hand, the accumulated positive cases in the state are already 18 thousand 702, of which Mexicali registers most of them by adding 8 thousand 597, following Tijuana with 5 thousand 990. In addition, the border city was the municipality that reported the most new cases: 34.
Meanwhile, to date, 3 thousand 432 Baja California natives have lost their lives to COVID-19, most of them from Mexicali (one thousand 529) and Tijuana (one thousand 399).
Recovered patients
In spite of this context, at least 10 thousand 789 patients have recovered from this disease in Baja California, which is a higher figure compared to the number of patients who have died.
