Mayor Karla Ruiz supports entrepreneurship of Tijuana's youth

The projects were chosen for having a viable business model

Karla Ruiz Macfarland, Mayor of Tijuana, congratulated the 20 young entrepreneurs selected in the "Emprende y Expande 2021 (Start and Expand 2021)" contest, not only for supporting the economic reactivation of the city, but also for pursuing their dreams, wanting to grow and for seeking to do so with something of their own.

"Many congratulations to all the young entrepreneurs who dare to go after their dreams, to take a step forward. We are proud to be able to support them so they can continue to grow".

The beneficiaries received economic support through the Municipal Institute for Youth Tijuana, which were delivered by the XXIII City Hall to grow their respective businesses.

The officials detailed that the projects were chosen for having a sustainable business model, so the resource would help not only them, but also their employees.

"With these projects we can support you and you in turn, I hope you can support other citizens. I am very happy that we can generate these links and these bridges where we seek the welfare of all," added the mayor, who also took the opportunity to invite citizens to support local businesses.

The event was attended by the director of Imjuv, Sara Alejandra González Olachea, the councilwoman Edna Mireya Pérez Corona, the head of the Welfare Secretariat, Priscila Bustamante Hernández; and on behalf of the recipients, Venus Celeste Morales González.
