Baja's Governor Listens to the Observatorio Ciudadano Citizens Group

There was a follow up regarding subjects such as infrastructure, education and economical development.

MEXICALI. - State Governor, Francisco "Kiko" Vega de Lamadrid welcomed today in his offices the representatives of the Citizen Observatory (OBSERBC in Spanish) organism, led by Eduardo Martínez Palomera, in order to give a follow up regarding several projects and subjects such as transparency, infrastructure, education and economical development, among others.

Alongside the State's Secretary of Economical Development, Carlo Bonfante Olache, as well as the General Cabinet Coordinator, Isauro López Cárdenas, Governor Vega assured that for this administration, citizen participation is fundamental in order to achieve goals that will generate better opportunities for the citizen's well being, that being said a work scheme is being planned alongside organism such as OBSERBC.

Among the talked about subjects, the one the stands out is the progress that Baja California has achieved regarding transparency, for which lineaments dictated by the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO in Spanish) have been implemented, making it possible to improve some aspects such as the website that designs mechanisms that make its regarding budgets very easy.

Other aspects that were talked about are information regarding public debt, as well as the progress registered since last year after the approval of the Civil Service Law and ISSSTECALI'S Law. On the matter, Governor Vega mentioned that these orders will allow the state administration to substantially move forward in an administrative environment as well as giving employment to state workers regarding their labor rights.

Furthermore, there was a follow up on these years' projects that still need to be taken into account, such as Mexicali's rainwater infrastructure, especially in the area of Los Santorales, which are of prime interest in order to prevent flooding and diseases caused by pond water, which is why the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Urban Development (SIDUE in Spanish) is working in coordination with CONAGUA on the Integral Hybrid Plan, that will allow this work to place, nonetheless this year already has around 30,000,000 pesos set for this matter.

High Technology Center is Launched

On the other hands, Martínez Palomera informed the Governor about the progress regarding the School Link Committee and Mexicali's Economical Development Council Company (CDEM), which alongside the State and Federal Government will launch a High Technology Center that will provide specialized training in different areas pushing towards high value employment.
