The organization "Apoyemos a Tijuana", a main collaborator for the opening of Hospital Auxiliar Zonkeys located in the border city, informed that due to the arrival of few patients by COVID-19 in the last weeks, it has decided to conclude its operations.

However, because the pandemic is not yet over in Tijuana and Baja California, the "Apoyemos a Tijuana" initiative and the Directors of the Zonkeys team in Tijuana, have agreed that the facility will continue as before: with O2 lines, compressed air, beds (50), air filtration systems and other important issues and adaptations all in case they are required again.

So far, "Apoyemos a Tijuana" has managed to raise more than 30 million pesos, "11 in cash and 19 in goods, which has been possible with the help of individuals, civil organizations and companies," they mentioned in their statement.

In turn, this initiative has delivered more than 855 thousand and 60 items such as protective equipment, hygiene, food and medical equipment.

"Apoyemos a Tijuana" will continue with the donations as well as the delivery of protective equipment and other items to public hospitals and civil organizations. This is because Hospital Auxiliar Zonkeys only represents one wing of the double effort of "Apoyemos a Tijuana", which will continue to supply medical equipment, food and sanitary products to the community," they said.
