"It's a risk to meet again": Baja California exceeds 600 active cases

The state has more than 25 thousand positive cases and 4 thousand 193 deaths

The Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, announced this Thursday the context in which Baja California is facing the pandemic by COVID-19.

Unfortunately, active cases continue to rise, adding up to 670, of which 299 are located in Mexicali, while Tijuana and Ensenada register 145 and 126 active cases respectively. Due to this number of cases, Pérez Rico said that "it is a risk to meet again in our region".

In addition, in the last 24 hours 27 Baja Californians have died and 186 new cases of coronavirus were reported. With these figures, the state has accumulated 25 thousand and 35 positive cases and 4 thousand and 193 deaths.

In light of this, the Secretary of Health expressed that, "we are paying the price of the conglomerations" and that this only shows the beginning of how the pandemic will be observed during the winter season.

Added to this is the hospital occupation in Baja California, which is 56%, while the Secretary of Health reports 51% and the IMSS 60%.

There are currently 331 hospitalized patients in the region, this being confirmed by laboratory with COVID-19. And compared to a month ago, the state went from 87 intubated patients to 153 this Thursday morning.
