Sanitary filters are placed in this Baja California border checkpoint during Christmas

The Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego reported that they will remain until Sunday

If you are thinking of crossing into Baja California this Christmas, we recommend you take your precautions and follow the COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures.

According to the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, from Thursday December 24th until Sunday December 27th, there will be sanitary filters in the west gate between Calexico in California and the municipality of Mexicali in Baja California.

From 2:00 p.m. on December 25 until 12:00 midnight they established these filters where travelers are asked to wear a mask, have their temperature taken, check their symptoms, and have a maximum of two people per car and that they are entering for an essential activity.

If you cross into this part of Mexico through this port of entry, we invite you to follow the recommendations of the authorities since the fines could range from 3 thousand 475 to 17 thousand 376 Mexican pesos.
