Mayor Karla Ruiz supports initiatives to promote child inclusion in Tijuana

Child and youth inclusion among the priorities of Tijuana Mayor Karla Ruiz

The Mayor of Tijuana, Karla Ruiz Macfarland, continues with her commitment to improve the quality of life of all citizens. This also includes the little ones, who through social programs have enjoyed events and recognitions especially for them.

It is very important to the Mayor that all Tijuanense children have the same opportunities, so she has carried out several events in which inclusion has been highlighted, with this purpose the Inclusive Children's Miniolympics was held at the CREA Sports Unit during the month of July.

In this event, both children and their tutors participated in activities such as: 50-meter bicycle races, ball throwing, obstacle courses, frisbee and speed races.

Likewise, in August, the mayor toured the Children's Rehabilitation and Inclusion Center (CRIT) Tijuana, built in 2015 and which began operations in 2016.

According to what was communicated by the Tijuana City Hall "in its axis of gender equality, non-discrimination and inclusion, it incorporates public policies that guarantee and strengthen it directed especially towards vulnerable groups".

Karla Ruiz toured the CRIT facilities, and invited the community to visit them to see the results obtained through the joint effort where citizen participation is of great importance to achieve positive results for those who require these services.
