The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, led the Coordination Council Regarding Security Matters with members of the Business Coordinator Council (CCE), who joined the security strategy promoted by Marina del Pilar while also expressing their concerns and needs.

As such, Marina del Pilar reaffirms her commitment in adding the business sector to her security strategies to protect the integrity of all people while also safeguarding the economic stability of the state to incentivize investments.

In addition, in front of the business sector and those in charge of Baja California’s security organizations, the state governor called for results obtained regarding fighting crime to be maintained, especially in Tijuana, where the rate is higher. That’s why she said that direct communication will be strengthened with federal forces and Tijuana native municipal authorities, in order to create the environment that families in the city need.

At Second Military Zone facilities in the city of Tijuana, the governor pointed out that the business sector will have the willingness of her administration to listen to all concerns regarding insecurity and called on to use technical skills and their closeness to society to create activities, operationally speaking. At the same time, they are working to provide more certainty to investors with an interest in expanding or setting up businesses in Baja California.

Business owners present spoke about the importance of working together on security matters, economic promotion, and the wellbeing of all people, since they point out that through a peaceful environment it is possible to create increasingly better jobs that create a better wellbeing for families and move young people away from risky activities.

Marina del Pilar supervises progress on Los Olivos bridge

As part of her activities in the city of Tijuana, the governor supervised progress of the construction of Puente Los Olivos in the eastern area of the city, which is already 90% finished , which is why it will soon be in conditions so that more than 350,000 people can travel on it every day.

Marina del Pilar explained that currently they are putting the bearing floors, while the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territory Redesign (SIDURT) is installing handrails and cast on the sidewalk.
