6 out of every 10 of those who die from coronavirus in Baja California are men

The state has now 2 thousand 192 deaths caused by this virus, most of them in Mexicali

At a national level, Baja California remains in 8th place as the one of the states with the most positive cases by COVID-19, with 10 Thousand 887 of this type of cases as of this Monday, July 13th according to head of the Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico.

Most of the people who have tested positive are from Mexicali, a municipality with 5 thousand 906 confirmed cases, followed by Tijuana with 3 Thousand 170, Ensenada with one Thousand and 67, Tecate with 255, San Quintin with 219, San Felipe with 147, and Rosarito with 123.

Meanwhile, regarding the Number of deaths, the region comes in 3rd place within the highests numbers in Mexico, registering 2 thousand 192 with only one thousand and 33 in the state capital, 949 in Tijuana, 122 in Ensenada, 68 in Tecate, 12 in Rosarito, 7 in San Quintin and one in San Felipe.

According to the head of the Secretary of Health, 50% of the people who have died in Baja California from coronavirus are adults over 60 years old, and of the total number of deaths, 6 out of 10 are men.

Perez Rico mentioned that in one month (from June 12th to July 12th) the state registered 597 deaths due to this virus, placing the region in 8th place with the most deaths in that period of time.

Although many still consider that Baja California is not improving, up until today, there are 3 thousand 386 patients already recovered from COVID-19 in the state, 2 thousands and 30 of them from the most affected municipality: Mexicali.
