Baja California registers 37 new cases and 8 deaths from coronavirus in 24 hours

Intubated patients also increased from 74 to 80 in the region according to the Secretary of Health

In the update of cases by COVID-19, corresponding to this Monday October 12, the Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico informed that Baja California registered 37 new cases and 8 deaths in 24 hours because of this disease.

Of the 37 new infections, 19 were reported in Tijuana, 12 in Mexicali, 3 in Rosarito, 2 in Ensenada and 1 in Tecate. In the case of deaths, 5 of the 8 were Mexicali residents, 2 Tijuana residents and 1 from the port of Ensenada.

As of this Monday, the region has 20 thousand 386 infections and 3 thousand 662 deaths from the new coronavirus.

In addition, intubated patients also showed an increase as presented this morning by the Secretary of Health, who confirmed that on Saturday, October 10, 74 were registered, but by the end of the day on Sunday, October 11, 6 patients were up, having with these a total of 80 until today: "two more patients at the Department of Health and four more patients at the Social Security Institute. This is already five days of a positive trend for intubated patients," adds Perez Rico.

On the other hand, at least 12 thousand 952 Baja Californians have recovered from coronavirus, but despite this, the population is still being asked to continue with prevention measures, since there are still 378 active cases in the state.
