Baja California records 256 new infections from COVID-19

Mexicali remains the most affected municipality, registering 105 of these new cases and being close to 11 thousand positive accumulated cases

Baja California seems to return to a less than positive outlook for the pandemic caused by COVID-19, since in the last few hours 256 new cases were reported, of which 105 belong to Mexicali, followed by Tijuana with 87, 22 from Tecate, 21 from Ensenada, 16 from San Quintin and five from Rosarito.

In addition to this, active cases continue to rise, adding up to 491, registering almost all municipalities, with the exception of San Felipe, an increase, but continuing Mexicali as the most affected with 234 of these cases, as well as Ensenada with 95 and Tijuana with 94.

With these figures, Baja California has a total of 24 thousand 463 accumulated positive cases, of which only 10 thousand 929 are registered in the state capital.

In the case of deaths, which are 4 thousand 141, in the last 24 hours six new deaths were reported in Mexicali, two in Tijuana and one in Ensenada. However, the border city already exceeds the capital by adding one thousand 755 losses, while Mexicali registers one thousand 749.

As of this Tuesday morning, hospital occupancy in Baja California is at 51.47%, with 318 hospitalized patients, 142 intubated, 377 beds available and 147 free ventilators for use.
