According to the report presented yesterday morning by the Secretary of Health, Alonso Perez Rico, in one month Baja California went from 21.6% hospital occupancy by COVID-19 to 10.72% until this Thursday.

"For every 10 beds I have for COVID patients, only one is occupied," he said.

Hospitalized patients confirmed with coronavirus total 74, while those intubated total 47, he reported. In addition, there are 837 beds available and 216 ventilators among the seven hospitals of the entity that treat these cases.

However, Perez Rico stated that they are about to "lose the battle", since the Effective Reproduction Rate (ER) in Baja California is still close to one, 0.98, and at least Rosarito, San Quintin and Tijuana report this indicator at 1.19, 1.16 and 1.04 respectively.

Thus, one person with coronavirus in these municipalities can transmit the virus to two other people.

On the other hand, the cases that are still active are 270, of which 104 are registered in Tijuana, 104 in Mexicali, 24 in Ensenada, 15 in Rosarito, 14 in San Quintin, five in Tecate and four in San Felipe.
