Beer of the Week: Ramuri Mango

Indian Pale Ales are still the hit of the summer

Beer has always been like the "comic relief" of movies, you sometimes need it to relax, to hang with a close friend, or just because you want to make a fun decision (or a bad one). But no matter the reason, there's always one movie that catches your attention and becomes your favorite. This is what happened with the beer of this week.

Ramuri Brewery makes people happy at "Plaza Fiesta" in Tijuana with one of their most famous beers called "Lagrimas Negras", which already has a place in the hearts of many; but this is not the only thing they get right.

This brewery is known for mixing Indian Pale Ale with fruity flavors, such as peach, pineapple and even papaya (yep, that's right). This week's chosen flavor was mango. The beer's taste is subtle, so you better stop thinking it's going to be just as biting the fruit.

It is not like that and definitely is not only a combination of mango juice with a touch of alcohol, but even better. With every gulp you take the hop's bitterness goes perfectly well with the sweet flavor and smell of the beer, creating a caramelized sensation in the palate.

You can enjoy this beverage while eating Vietnamese food or whatever "munchies" you can find in Ramuri's menu (cooked in a half VW car at one meter from the bar). At the end it doesn't matter if you drink it fast or slow, I assure you that at 6 proof alcohol, this is the greatest way of gulping down beer at any pace.
