Jaime Martinez Veloz expressed his intention to be a candidate of Morena for the governorship of Baja California in the next elections, after having met in Mexico City with the close circle of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

After discussing extensively with my colleagues. I will register as a “pre-candidate” he warned on his return from the capital, where he met up with with the Secretary of the Interior Olga Sanchez Cordero among other high-level officials.

He asserted that favorable conditions exist for a successful candidacy to be given, for which reason a continuous and close work has to be unfolded with the 5 municipalities of the state, as well as with the indigenous communities.

Martinez Velez is currently emerging in the rest of the polls proving to be the fastest growing candidate in the region.

The architect and activist have been a figure close to Andrés Manuel López Obrador, with whom he has had a friendship since the president was Head of Government of CDMX and Martínez Veloz was a federal deputy.

Since then, Martínez Veloz has worked in the poorest communities helping to organize communities to create growth opportunities.
