New strain of COVID-19: France registers its first case

Previously, France had already announced the closure of its borders with the United Kingdom, where this new variation of the virus was detected.

It seems that some tests that were carried out on a French citizen last Friday, December 21st, were positive, which means the first case of this evolution of COVID-19 in the European country, presented only one week after this new strain was revealed to the world.

The man who was diagnosed with the new virus was a traveler who had returned from London, where this strain originated and was eventually announced, causing great controversy around the world and also causing the closure of its borders, as well as that of many neighboring nations, including France, but even so it was not possible to prevent the entry of the virus into its territory.

Fortunately, the patient has not presented any symptom, which is why he has declared himself asymptomatic and out of danger, as announced by the French Ministry of Health when they were asked about this case detected in the French city of Tours.

"Those responsible for the health care system began to trace the medical professionals who took care of the patient and the people with whom he was in contact, so that they would be strictly isolated," concluded the health authorities.
