AMLO to visit Tijuana this Saturday to address security issues

The border city was placed among the 15 most violent municipalities in Mexico, which is why he seeks to proceed with this plan.

When questioned about the security plan he had announced for the 15 most violent municipalities in Mexico in December 2020, among which is Tijuana, the president of this country, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, commented that this weekend he will travel to Sonora and Baja California.

Specifically, he will arrive in Hermosillo on Friday, February 19, Saturday, February 20 in Tijuana and that same day he will head to La Paz in Baja California Sur.

"I will be in Hermosillo and there we will supervise the construction of a hospital in Hermosillo, so that it will be finished as soon as possible, in May or June," he mentioned. In addition to this hospital, a National Guard barracks will also be inaugurated in the capital of Sonora.

It is worth mentioning that one of these barracks will also be inaugurated in Tijuana during his visit, said the President.

"We are going to stay overnight in Hermosillo and fly the next day to Tijuana. We are also going to inaugurate military barracks in Tijuana, we are reinforcing security," he said.

Meanwhile, he will rest in La Paz on Saturday to inaugurate a highway and supervise a thermoelectric plant on Sunday. Meanwhile, Baja California authorities confirmed the arrival of Lopez Obrador, however the president's full agenda is not yet available, but he will arrive on Saturday.
