Mexico reports more than 2 million 22 thousand cases of COVID-19

The total number of deaths is 178 thousand 108.

This Thursday, Mexico registered 9 thousand 99 more cases and one thousand 47 unfortunate deaths, which adds up to 2 million 22 thousand 662 infections and 178 thousand 108 deaths caused by COVID-19, according to data published by the National Institute of Public Health (INSP).

Taking into account other parameters, the number of cases estimated by the Secretariat of Health has already reached 2 million 217 thousand 621. Let's remember that this calculation is obtained based on confirmed infections, the percentage of positivity and the epidemiological association.

As far as hospital occupancy is concerned, it was reported that at a national level the Mexican Republic does not have any state using more than 70% of its hospital bed capacity, with a total of 19 thousand 870 general beds and 6 thousand 981 beds with ventilators for more delicate patients.

Jose Luis Alomia, General Director of Epidemiology, notified that as of today one million 318 thousand and 55 anti-COVID vaccines have been applied, taking into account the 217 thousand 432 doses administered in the last 24 hours.

249 thousand 217 health personnel have already received both doses of the vaccine, with 375 thousand 664 medical professionals still awaiting the second dose, while 426 thousand 463 senior citizens are currently vaccinated.

The mortality rate continues at 8.8%, while the world list of countries with the highest number of deaths caused by the SARS Cov-2 virus remains unchanged in the top 3 places, with Mexico in third place, followed by Brazil (240 thousand 950 deaths) in second place and the United States at the top of the list with 492 thousand 999 deaths.
