Governor Marina del Pilar declares Baja California will be under green traffic light

Marina del Pilar confirmed that, staring February 21, 2022, Baja California will be under the green traffic light

Thanks to proper COVID-19 measures, Baja California has officially been able to contain the fourth wave of the pandemic, due to a collaboration between all people who organized adequately to prevent infections.

Because of this, starting Monday, February 21, 2022, the state will change from being under the orange to the green epidemiological traffic light.

This means that we will able to recover the normalization of most of our activities. To everyone, thanks a lot for your commitment, stated Marina del Pilar.

The governor said that the challenge of the green traffic light is to continue with the activities that had been suspended during other pandemic waves, the most important one being a return to in-person classes for all educational levels. Because of this, coordinated work has taken place so that all facilities are ready to receive back all the students, as well as having all school personnel vaccinated against Covid-19.

“I want to call on all mothers and fathers so that we can get ready to have a proper return to in-person classes soon. We are in close coordination with our teachers to be ready and to receive all of our students soon back to our schools,” explained Marina del Pilar.

Nevertheless, the Governor stated that the advent of the green traffic light does not mean that people have to lower their guard, which is why the state Secretariat of Health will continue to bolster vaccination in all the municipalities of Baja California.

She called on all people to keep following health measures such as usage of antibacterial gel, constant handwashing, and face masks in enclosed spaces, especially inside public transportation.
