Once again the most violent cities in the world list was revealed and a city in Mexico is classified as one of the most violent, followed by seven other Mexican cities. Down below is the list ranked from most to least violent:
1. Zamora
2. Obregon City
3. Zacatecas
4. Tijuana
5. Celaya
6. Juárez
7. Ensenada
8. Uruapan

The other 43 cities are from different countries in the world, although some other Mexican cities appear in the list such as Irapuato, Chihuahua, and Cancun. However, it is still surprising that for the fifth year in a row a Mexican city is the most violent in the world, even taking into account Mexican President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s “policy” of “hugs, not bullets.”

Besides this, these already mentioned regions are practically the same as last year’s. In 2020, Celaya appeared in first place and Tijuana in second place, while Juárez and Obregon City were third and fourth place respectively; Irapuato and Ensenada were fifth and sixth.

On the other hand, Zacatecas is a new addition to these cities ranked in the first places. In 2021, Tijuana was fourth place, according to the Citizen Council of Public Security and Penal Justice A.C.

Unfortunately, Tijuana has become worldwide news after the murders of journalists Lourdes Maldonado and Margarito Martínez that occurred just one week apart from each other. Due to this, municipal authorities have remained silent and the state has been the one in charge of the case.

At the same time, the city of Tijuana has had robbery and homicide crimes in areas that were once considered “safe”. As an example, one month ago the Japanese-style restaurant Taikishi’s owner was murdered after being mugged in Colonia Cacho.
