Marina del Pilar is looking to implement strategies to strengthen security in Baja California

The governor met with the head of SEGOB to analyze measures to fight crime

In order to strengthen security in the region, Baja California’s Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda held a productive meeting with Adán Augusto López Hernández, head of the Secretariat of Home Affairs (SEGOB). In this meeting, they analyzed strategies and key concepts to help the region develop.

At the meeting that took place in Mexico City, Governor Marina del Pilar and the Secretary analyzed coordination strategies that have been carried out by state and federal parties in the last few months, as well as actions that will be applied in both government levels to fight crime.

Marina del Pilar emphasized that the results given by these strategies will be steered to strengthen peace in benefit of all Baja Californians, by eliminating crime and a gradual rebuilding of the the social fabric.

The governor also said that the government of Mexico, led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has paid special attention to the building of peace in Baja California, through the strengthening of operations by the National Guard as well as allocating necessary resources to expand the operational capacity of this agency.

We are now moving forwards together in strategic matters regarding security and the government to keep transforming our state”, Marina del Pilar wrote through her social media accounts.

Both the Governor and the Secretary analyzed matters that are of concern to the state and the way to coordinate efforts in order to carry out projects to benefit those who have less, as it is one of the main core principles of the Fourth Transformation, the guiding principle of the actions by both administrations.

On the other hand, Marina del Pilar attended a coordination meeting with Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, and with Sonora’s Governor, Alfonso Durazo Montaño.

At this meeting several subjects were discussed, from strategies to agreements regarding the Pacific Area, the presentation of the “Mar de Cortés” brand, and the definition of coordination mechanisms between federal and state authorities to promote the region nationally and internationally.

Marina del Pilar discusses water matters with CONAGUA director

In another item of her agenda, Baja Californian Governor Marina del Pilar held a meeting with the General Director of the National Commission of Water (CONAGUA), Germán Arturo Martínez Santoyo, where they discussed several timely coordination projects with this federal agency.

The topics discussed with CONAGUA were the current situation with the Colorado River, as well as concrete international water sanitation activities carried out in the border area.
