Marina del Pilar administration will allocate more than 146 million pesos to hydraulic projects in Playas de Rosarito

Among actions contemplated there is the expansion of service coverage, restorations, pothole repairs, and citizen assistance

In order to address the demands of potable water and sewage in Playas de Rosarito, the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, presented progress regarding projects to improve infrastructure that is part of the 2023 Program by the State Commission of Public Utilities of Tijuana (CESPT).

The state governor informed that this organization will invest more than 146 million pesos in projects in order to expand service coverage, restorations, pothole repair, and citizen assistance, contributing to a better quality of life for residents in this municipality.

CESPT Director, Víctor Daniel Amador Barragán, stated that among the completed projects, there is the restoration of 440 square meters of the potable water network of Circuito Delfín, in Colonia Playa Mazatlán, with an investment of 1.6 million pesos which will prevent water from being wasted.

He stated that, currently, the Commission is restoring the Downtown Rosarito collector, at the level of Quintas del Mar, with an investment of more than 2.4 million pesos, as well as the complementary project of 80 meters of the potable water network in Benito Juárez Boulevard, in Colonia Echeverría, with an investment of 462,000 pesos.

Another project that is currently being built in the city of Tijuana will improve water services for inhabitants in 25 neighborhoods in northern Playas de Rosarito, such as Plan Libertador, La Mina, Aztlán, Terrazas de San Ángel, La Herradura, Ramos, Cumbres de Rosarito, among others. This water supply depends on the Valparaíso system which is a part of the Pórticos-Santa Fe system, where the organization carries out construction work of a propulsion line from the Aguaje de la Tuna tank to the Panamericano tank.

Regarding the expansion of services, through PROAGUA, there’s a plan to build sewage in Colonias Colinas de Mazatlán and Lomas del Coronado, with a total of 15,960 meters of new networks with an investment of more than 55 million pesos.

Among actions scheduled for this year, there is the restoration of outlets, dischargers, and gauges to benefit 8,292 users. Regarding sanitation, the government will work to restore and install an electrical generator at the wastewater sanitation plant in northern Rosarito.

In addition, in the first batch of the 2023 pothole repair program, the installation of 3,216 square meters of asphalt and hydraulic concrete was scheduled, in order to finalize unfinished projects on roads where public work is carried out.

Marina del Pilar added that to make things easier for people, during the second trimester of this year, an autopayment ATM was installed, which is located at the personalized assistance center facilities of CESPT Rosarito Villa Floresta.

Lastly, Marina del Pilar highlighted that Playas de Rosarito is currently providing services to around 47,000 accounts and claimed that, with these actions, this water organization reiterates its commitment to work continuously to elevate the quality of its services for the inhabitants of this municipality.
